Content : Global Reporting Initiative
The Global Reporting Initiative (G.R.I) is a guideline that was developed to globally harmonize corporate sustainability reporting. Begun in 1997, the G.R.I is a joint initiative between the American Non-Governmental Organization CERES (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies) and UNEP (United Nations Environment Programs) with the mission of reinforcing quality, rigor and utility to sustainable development reporting. This long-term process involves international multi-stakeholder groups which on a periodic basis develop, maintain and disseminate globally applicable Sustainability Reporting Guidelines. Companies voluntarily use these guidelines to report their economic, social and environmental performance.
