Global Compact
Sanofi-aventis signed the U.N Global Compact in 2003. The Compact is a framework corporations utilize to incorporate 10 universally accepted principles within their businesses.
These principles are divided into four categories: human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. Companies, which subscribe to these principles, adjust their business operations so that the Compact and its principles become part of their strategy, culture and day-to-day operations.
The sanofi-aventis Group maintains its commitment to the U.N Global Compact principles as well as our Sustainability activities by continuing to integrate them into the way that we do business. In fully supporting the Compact we are demonstrating our responsibility to our role in protecting Human Rights, abiding by core labor standards, freedom of association, child and forced labor, anti-discrimination and environmental protection.
While adhering to the U.N Global Compact, sanofi-aventis also embraces principles drawn from the following standards and/ or International Conventions : - The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
- The International Labour Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
- The Rio Declaration on Environment and Development
