Managing Clinical Research Units

Clinical Research Units (CRU) that implement the clinical trials conducted by sanofi-aventis with the investigation centers

The CRU network operates according to centralized procedures, in line with international and local ethics and regulatory standards. Because they operate locally, they are adapted to national health systems. Their proximity and familiarity with the local setting, combined with centralized coordination, provides optimum conditions for strict selection and follow-up on a regular basis by the investigation centers. 

Sanofi-aventis thus ensures the protection of patients as well as strict adherence to Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

Clinical Research Units (CRUs) are located in 29 countries. 29 other countries without a CRU are managed by neighboring CRUs (this does not apply to vaccines).

In 2007, several hundred clinical trials were conducted throughout 60 countries and in more than 8,500 centers.
