Partnership with WHONew partnership contract signed with WHO in October 2006
On October 10, 2006, sanofi-aventis entered into a new, five-year partnership agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO). Of the sanofi-aventis donation, USD 6.4 million (25%) will be earmarked for combating leishmaniasis. This partnership reflects the Group's determination to be active in the struggle against this neglected disease, in particular through initiatives focused on Information, Education and Communication (IEC). Transferring production to a factory in BrazilStreamlining production by manufacturing all treatments at a single industrial site
Meglumine antimoniate is produced and distributed by sanofi-aventis in a number of countries. Production will ultimately be centralized in Brazil, at the Suzano site. Sanofi-aventis will thus be able to offer a differential pricing policy for this treatment and provide better access to treatment for the greatest number of patients worldwide. Implementation plan
