Gender equality in the workplace - Actions

 

Professional gender equality agreement

The Group's senior management pays particular attention to professional gender equality among the teams and is committed to correcting disparities. The means to reach this goal include negotiations with the Works Councils and the implementation of monitoring indicators (of the number of women working at each level of the organization, training, compensation, etc.)

An initial professional gender equality agreement was signed in November 2006 to improve equality in the French Research and Development Division. 
In March 2007, another professional equality agreement was signed within the sanofi-aventis Group.  

Increasing awareness among management

Sanofi-aventis is committed to a better understanding of the situation that encourages a proactive attitude through the implementation of indicators at the Group level and communication projects.  

Initiatives:

  • Creation of gender composition indicators at the end of 2006 
  • Awareness raising:
    • In France, Group sponsorship of the "Trajectoires HEC au Féminin" Prize in May 2007;
    • Aux USA, programme de networking WISE (Women Inspiring sanofi-aventis Excellence) ;   
  • Within Industrial Affairs:
    • particular attention is given to women employees during personnel reviews to ensure that all their skills and potential have been clearly identified
    • a communication program describing industrial careers with the Group has been introduced in selected French institutes of learning.
