Conduct an environmental analysis of water consumption at our sites

Assess the natural environment's sensitivity to the withdrawal of large amounts of water from reserves

Environmental analysis is carried out regularly and updated at each site. 

Various means are of analysis are used:

• the development of an internal methodology for detailed G 701 environmental analysis (Internal Guide for environmental risk assessment);
• issuance of the 706 internal water standard, which recommends counting methods and a detailed water report;
• local campaigns to increase awareness about the reasonable use of water;
• investment in closed-loop facilities to reduce water consumption at certain sites.

Sanofi-aventis wishes to preserve water resources in places where they are sufficient and encourage the reconstitution of such resources where past human activity or climate pressure jeopardize the sustainability of water resources.
