Economic issues

Sanofi-aventis carries out its business activities in close collaboration with numerous stakeholder groups: patients, employees, shareholders, suppliers, subcontractors, competitors and the local communities that make up the Group's daily environment.

 

Special emphasis is placed on activities with a positive impact on local economies and communities. Going beyond regulatory requirements, sanofi-aventis puts emphasis on establishing R&D and industrial product development activities locally.

Sanofi-aventis also ensures that its partners comply with the social, ethical and environmental standards to which it adheres. The Group is gradually incorporating a Sustainable Development clause into all its purchasing contracts with suppliers.

Finally, sanofi-aventis undergoes an annual evaluation by rating agencies specialized in sustainable development.
